      <image:title>Services - What is CBT?</image:title>
<image:caption>Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of mental health treatment that gives clients coping skills to help them manage their emotions more effectively. CBT gives the client tools and strategies to help them change their thinking, behavior, and ultimately emotions so as to improve their life. Research has shown it is an effective therapy to treat a range of psychological concerns, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, addiction issues, obsessive compulsive disorder, and trauma to name a few. CBT works under the premise that problems develop in one’s life due to inaccurate or irrational thoughts and unhelpful patterns of behavior. Together with your therapist, you will identify these patterns of unhelpful thoughts and ways of acting and work to create new, more healthy thoughts and behaviors. With consistent effort and repeated practice, new patterns emerge and difficulties, such as anxiety and depression, decrease.</image:caption>
